!BIOGRAPY:
Banford, Richard son of John
122 Tamarack Ave
Eastend, SK S0N 0T0
(306) 295-3318
John was a butler in a millionaire's home in New York. Richard still has the butler suit that he wore. Richard's mother, Catherina Mc Kee Banford died when Richard was 6. John remarried a Cathleen Blakely. John met her at a Soiree [kind of a dance]. John, Ed and Tom came to East End and Jim to Regina. John had a sister that went to Lowell Mass. Richard recalls a relation to a Bamford in Vancouver. John's home was in Creevehill, County Fermanagh.
John's sister, Elizabeth Emily Banford married Samuel Anderson. Three of Samuel Andersons sons came to Canada. Several Irish people came out in a settlement at East End including Breens, Shields, Martins, Johnsons, Crawfords, McIntyres, down there in Little Ireland. All kind of relations were from same area. Located south of town of East End.
Richard and his wife traveled to Ireland in 1992 and went to the church where Richard's parents were married. The Barr Church was in Fintona, County Tyrone where Catherine McKee was from close to Fivemiletown. McKees lived in Fintona in 1992.
They recently received information about where grandfather, James Banford is buried.
John came to East End in 1912 or 1913. He took a trip to Ireland after WWI and married Catherine McKee and then came back to East End. His occupation was strictly farming.

Banford, Noreen
3420 Park St, Ste 308
Regina, SK S4V 2M9
(306) 789-2524
Jim's mother had five younger children and all she was living on was renting out the bit of land she had after her husband died. Jim came to Lowell because his sister Amelia was residing there and uncle Moffat was chief of Police. So brothers John, and Edward also came to Lowell and then to Saskatchewan. Both went to East End and have sons on the farm there. Noreen was in Ireland and saw the house where her father was born. Cousins named Anderson live in Ireland. Went to graveyard and found grandmother's grave. Two story stone house no one living in it for years. It was called Creevehill.
The land was leased to John Beatty in June 29, 1896 received from James Bamford for the sum of 10 pounds 15 shillings for six months for holding in Creevehill. Later lease 8 pounds 5 shillings for half years rent 18 May 1901. Might have been 10 or 20 acres. No longer in family in 1988 when Noreen was there.
When Noreen's father was living they never asked questions.
Robert Moffat did research on the Moffat side.
Cousin descended of her father's sister married to Samuel Anderson.
