    • Education/Occupation: Carleton Place schools; graduated from Grade 12 in 1932/Canadian Bank of Commerce, 1932-1953; 1953-1978 operated own stationery business; sold business (O'Neil Sales Ltd) in 1978; retired 3/1/79.
      Military Service: 3-1/2 years in RCAF
      Background: Gradnfather David Moffatt and his brother Samuel operataed a sawmill/planing mill around the late 1800s. Business closed prior to 1915 and Samuel moved to Renfrew, Ont. Grandfather remained in Carleton Place and worked as a building contractor. Carleton Place was originally called Murphy's Falls.
