Obituary Elizabeth Jean (Moffat) Cundiff, 87, of Atlanta – Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, musician, and homemaker – went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 13, 2017.

Betty attended Monmouth College where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She graduated from Monmouth in 1951 with a B.S. in Business Administration. She and Harry were married on September 13, 1952 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sparta, Illinois.

An accomplished musician, Betty played saxophone in the local (Sparta) swing band, The Stardusters. She also played the piano, sang in the choir and was called to fill in as the organist for churches she attended in Sparta, Cincinnati, and Atlanta. She truly enjoyed music.

Being of Scottish heritage, Betty was a Life Member of the Scottish Clan Moffat Society and enjoyed attending the Highland Games at Stone Mountain, GA and other cities in the US, Canada, and Scotland. She and her husband, Harry, were conveners for the Stone Mountain Highland Games in the mid-1990s. The Tattoo and the Kirkin’ of the Tartans were their favorite celebrations. She and Harry always looked forward to donning their Scottish attire for the events. Along with her tea and scones, she loved listening to Scottish music.

A faithful member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church since 1975, Betty enjoyed many years of worship, study, and fellowship with the Martha and Gene Wilson Sunday School class, the Women’s Circle, and the Peachtree Squares.

Betty leaves behind her adoring children, Mark (Patti) Cundiff, Lynne Cundiff, and Amy (Frank) McKenzie, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She joins her loving husband of 64 years, Harry; her parents, Robert and Dorothy (Bertram) Moffat, and her brother, Robert Moffat, in life everlasting.

A memorial service was held Saturday, August 26th, at 11:00am in the Wilson Chapel, Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Following the service, family members received friends at a reception in the Williams Center, Peachtree Presbyterian.

A memorial service for both Betty and Harry took place on Wednesday, September13th, at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Sparta, IL. Following the service, interment was held at Caledonia Cemetery.  [2
