  • Notes
    • They lived in St. John, Charlottetown and Halifax. Don was an accomplished violinist from an early age. "Don Messer and the Islanders" was popular on radio from Charlottetown in the Thirties and early Forties. Later in the l950s his television show "CountryJubilee" became nationally famous. There was a tremendous outcry when C.B.C. discontinued it in 1959.
