  Died at Deer Lodge Hospital Wpg.Raised in Dumfries Scotland; coming to Canada in 1907.The Aunt who had raised him had married Robert Price of Deloraine, Mb. He followed her to work on the farms in the district. Close by was the homestead of his cousin Dave Brown, son of Alison McMichael Moffat and William Brown of Glencarrn Dumfries County.The Brown family came to Canada in 1908 but returned to Scotland leaving the 4 older children behind. Arch moved to Winnipeg to practice his trade in Automobile Mechanics and to particpate in the Queens Own Highlanders Pipe Band. At the outbreak of World War1 he returned to Britian with the First Division C.E.F. transferring to the Ammo Division and serving in France until being discharged in 1919. He served again from 1939 to 1945,W.W.2 in Britian. He was an Elder in John Black United Church and an enthusiastic Piper. Birth registered-1890-June-Ipswich-4a 799. Born at 45,Ann Street, Ipswich. 1901-Staying/living at Dunscore with aunt Agnes and other family members. Married, in Winnipeg, the sister of Andrew Grierson's wife, Spence. Not known if they married in Scotland or Canada. 196,Leighton Avenue, Winnipeg (address, no date) Several family trees on Ancestry have his name spelt as Moffitt and with his children listed.
