    • Metta was the daughter of Otto Callenius. "Mrs. Ernest Morfitt---Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest Morfitt, 76, of Omaha, NE were held Tuesday, September 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home Chapel in Sheldon. Rev. Calvin Teasdale officiated. Buriel was in the East Lawn Cemetery with the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon in charge of the funeral arrangements. Mrs. Abe Van Rockel was the organist. Pallbearers were Clarence Kuiken, Merlyn Callenius, Jr., Ron Callenius, Weber Koster, Millard Morfitt and Dudley Bainbridge. Metta K. Morfitt was born June (, 1894 at Hospers, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Callenius. She received her early schooling at Hospers and later at Highland Park in Des Moines where she took normal training in music and was a former music teacher there. She married Earnest Morfitt March 31, 1915 at Soux City. He died November 1955. For the last fifteen years she lived with a daughter in Washington D.C. She passed away September 25 in Omaha, NE after a long illness (Cancer). Survivors are one daughter, Miss Lorna Morfitt of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Merlyn Callenius, Sr. of Sheldon; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, and one brother."
