Unusually married a French officer during her war service. "Saw Mme. Flament née Maxwell-Moffat QAIMNSR, very prosperous looking and happy. A very nice home, and very pleased because she is going to have Prince Arthur of Connaught, his Secretary, and Surgeon-General Pike [billeted] with them." War Diary of Matron-General 17.8.1916.
