    • He was known as William Cox of Abel in Randolph Co, NC. In September, 1854 he took a two month trip to Grundy Co, MO as recorded in a book handed down through the family. William and Reuben stayed in Grundy Co, Mo for four and a half years with William returning to Randolph Co, NC on 10-29-1859. William was a Master Mason in Hanks Lodge #128 in Franklinville.
