    • Aug. 2, 1932 FUNERAL FOR MRS. SUSAN CUNNINGHAM HELD ON TUESDAY

PASSED AWAY SUNDAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS – BURIAL IN ERIE CEMETERY

Mrs. Susan A. Cunningham, aged 73 years, passed away about 5 O’Clock Sunday evening in the James Bonville home where she had been cared for since her illness nearly a year ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Minnie Mason, conducted by Rev. Albertus Perry, pastor of the M.E. church. Frank Besse and Mrs. Bernice James sang two selections and were accompanied by Mrs. Besse at the piano. The pall bearers were C.O. Burns, Will Pfundstein, Charles Feaster, S.A. Eddy, Frank Schaible, and L.G. Fadden.

Interment was in the Erie cemetery.
Susan Anna Moffatt was born July 3, 1859, at Amboy, Illinois. Her mother died when the daughter was but a child. After this loss in her young life she made her home for a time with her sister in Moline. Later she came to Erie and in 1877 married Joseph M. Cunningham, druggist in Erie. He passed away in Erie, February 9, 1918.

Mrs. Cunningham joined the Erie Methodist Episcopal church September 24, 1882. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Into the home there had came two children, Ernest of Sterling and Oscar of Barstow. They remain with us to mourn the loss of the mother. Other immediate surviving relatives are: One brother, Cyrus Moffat, of Thomas, Okla., one sister, Mrs. Eliza Youtzy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a grandson Carroll Cunningham, of Morrison, and one great grandson Jackie Wyman Cunningham also of Morrison.

In addition to these named there are many other relatives in the family. Then too some have gone on before, including brothers and sisters of the deceased. Then too, in framing this obituary we are also mindful of the many courtesies of one relative, Mrs. Minnie Mason, whose hospitality on this sad occasion merits unstinted praise.
