  • Notes
    • [Adapted by Alaric Faulkner from reminiscences of Lizzie Tait Gallaher, Notes of Stella Fox Beam]
Isolean was born at Grandfather [Thomas Tait]'s house and Janet stayed with them three years. Grandfather named the newborn after one of his old sweethearts. He kept her in his home till he married Connie who sent her to a soldier's orphans school. But she was not a soldier's daughter! She also went to Bradford school awhile and stayed with Lizzie.

When Isolean came home, she was taken to Janet's (Will Miller had died) at Foster Brook and lived with Janet always after that.

Isolean was married September 1st, Labor Day, 1907 at Salamanca [NY] to Bert Milks, a divorced man with no children. Vining, Janet’s new husband, opposed the marriage and didn't want her to take the piano, etc. Isolean and Bert went to live on Bert's farm 3 mi. above Little Valley [NY, just N. of Bradford, PA]. Lives there now [1930]. After Vining's death, Isolean took charge of all and held sale and Janet came to live with Isolean.
