    Military Wounded at Battle of Gettysburg 2 Jul 1863 - shot in the left shoulder, His left arm was shattered at the junction of the arm and the shoulder leaving a compound fracture. The arm was resected with many pieces of bone being removed leaving an arm 3 inches shorter than the other. One year after the battle a surgeons certificate states the wound is still open and unhealed with a puss filled.

    • saw grinder, Disston Saw Works was located from 1859 onwards at Front & Laurel St, Philadelphia, PA. Although Henry Disston bought the land to found the company town of Tacony in 1872, it took 25 years total to move all operations to the Tacony factory. It seems therefore very possible that in 1880, Theodore worked for the Disston Saw Works in the Front/Laurel St location.

    Headstone in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania, USA

    Headstone was dedicated during a ceremony on 22 September 2007. A note from descendant Anita Corcoran: "I recently obtained a VA headstone for my gg grandfather Theodore Moffet who was a Civil War veteran who was wounded at Gettysburg. He had been in an unmarked grave since 1899. This coming Saturday local Civil War reenactors will conduct a ceremony to dedicate his headstone."
