  • Notes
    • Known as Tiger Knight. Lied about his age so that he could sign up for the war. Was badly gassed when he joined up again for WW1. Was a terrible nag and thought all decent people were in bed by 10 o'clock.

He wasn't a tall man and was blonde haired and blue eyed. Wouldn't cross the yard to the communal toilet if his shoes weren't clean and his hair combed.

Kept a small barrel of beer in the cupboard under the stairs but would not let his wife, Margaruite, have even a small glass. She used to sneak out sometimes for a half at the pub on a Sunday lunch time and if she wasn.t back before him there would be a flaming row over the Sunday roast whereby her wedding ring used to be thrown at him. The last time it went up the chimney never to be seen again.

Charles, his brother, Eleanor (Pem) who apparently swore like a trooper, were witnesses at his wedding to Margaruite.

His mother, who was Welsh and red haired, was put into Winson Green suffering from Alziemer. She may have been called Martha. His sister certainly was and was also redhaired. His father was Irish.
