Text	Crawfordsville review, Saturday, May 13, 1916 - Waynetown May 12 The funeral services of William Moffett were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian Church. Rev. PJ Lough was in charge of the ceremony and the burial was at the Masonic cemetery west of town. William L. Moffett, son of Henry and Rebecca Glover Moffett was born on Scott's Prairie Oct 18, 1841 died May 10, 1916 aged 74 years 6 months 23 days. He was married to Martha Anne Cade April 20, 1866. To this union were born 3 children : Harriet O. Wilkinson, Rebecca E. Ingersoll and Henry L. Moffett. The wife and mother departed this life March 1, 1901. Besides the 3 children there are 10 grandchildren. William Moffett was one of 7 children, the four brothers; Thomas, James, Winfield and Zachary preceded him in death. Thomas dying in Crawfordsville, James in Irvington and Zachary in infancy. The two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Austin of Anderson and Miss Mattie of Waynetown survive and together with a host of relatives and friends mourn his departure. He united with the Christian Church at Scott's Prairie when but a lad and has continued in the active service of the Lord until death. He placed his membership at the Ingersoll Chapel Christian Church at its organization 40 years ago and was one of its elders since that date and the last one of the charter members to pass away. He was clean in life and pure in character, devoted to family and church and always gave them first attention. He was slow in speech, slow to wrath slow to answer and it may be truly said of him he hath done what he could. He rests from his labors and his word do follow him.
