  [Majer Colegrove Family.FTW] Joe Reginald Sims was born September 11, 1906 at the home of Doctor Cyrus W. Gorrell in the village of Payne, Paulding County, Ohio according to an affidavit sworn by his father Newell Leroy Sims. Joe and wife Millie were living at the Kingsley Manor retirement and Convelesant Hospital when he died April 22, 1991. That was located at 1055 N. Kingsley Drive, Hollywood, California. Cause of death was Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease due to Calific Aortic Stenosis. Joe was buried at Montecito Memorial Park, Waterman Ave., & Barton Road, Colton, California by the Harrison Ross Mortuary. He is buried in the plot with his mother. He entered the US Navy September 18, 1942 at the Los Angeles. Assignments: US Naval Station, San Diego, CA Photograpic Science Laboratory, Anacosta, D.C. US Naval Hospital, Bethesda, MD Discharged May 1, 1944 due to physical disability. Authority BuPers 3rd end of medical survey. PERS-6630-MW dated April 19, 1944 and not recommended for reenlistment.
