  • Notes
    • Bessie took up nursing later and Mabel photography. They sold their place and moved to East Main (I95). Bessie nursed several years and then married Boyd B. Heck, a nephew of a patient, Mr. Jewett who then disinherited Boyd. He [Mr. Jewett] gave Bessie $500 for a wedding present and left her $6,000 when he died.

Bessie's first child was Billy and later girl twins came, Charlotte [Catherine] and Elizabeth (Betty). [Note this is the third succesive generation of Snyders to have twins]. Billy cried when the twins came and the mother-in-law wanted her to have one girl but not two . Boyd was very exact, staid and dignified. Bessie, Mabel and Boyd spent a year or so at Eureka, Cal.--Kansas--lumber, boarders about 1898.
