  Headstone in Champers Cemetery, Carroll Co., Ohio, USA has Clement Lee Champer son of J & E Champer born 7 June 1863 died 14 May 1882. His stone is beside that of Catharine Champer, daughter of J & E Champer - this is Jacob Champer III and Elizabeth Earnst. But Clement can’t be the son of Jacob Champer and Elizabeth Earnst as Elizabeth would have been 73 years old in 1863. Other possible parents (that fit the J & E Champer parents) are: Jonathan T Champer and Elizabeth Lawler; Jacob K Champer and Eliza Runyon; Jonathan and Jacob are children of Jacob Champer III and Elizabeth Earnst. - Roger 23 Dec 2008 Alternatively - 1870 Census for Center Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio, USA shows Mary Champer aged 36 with Clement L Champer aged 6 and James F Champer aged 3. This could be Mary Harple who married John William Champer. John William died in 1869 - a year before the 1870 Census was taken, but doesn’t fit with the headstone saying son of J & E Champer - Roger 23 Dec 2008
