!2c) NOTE; As Peaston appears in both Parish records, and is approximately equal distance, about 3 miles, from the churchs of Humbie and Ormiston Parishes, I have listed Peaston as the birth place of all children. It is apparent, however, that the family did move at least once as they reported their residence as "Blackhouse" in 1738 and in 1740 at a farm called "Windmains." Need to check the census or tax records to get an exact location on these two locations.
!3) OPR COMPUTER FILES, LDS, 1996, lists the 13 May 1737 marriage of James Moffet to Jean Lawson in Humbie, E. Lothian, Scotland.
!3a) OPR, HUMBIE PARISH, EAST LOTHIAN, SCOTLAND, BIRTHS & MARRIAGES, 1732 - 1819, LDS Film #1067849, lists on 13 May 1737 James Moffet & Jean Lawson, both of this parish, gave up their names.
!RESEARCH NOTES) OPR COMPUTER FILES, LDS, 1999, lists James Moffat, c. 13 Apr 1718, Stirling, Stirling, Scotland, s/o James Maffet & Anna Moor.
- This info ties in this James with the naming pattern of the children of James Moffat & Jean Lawson. Their 1st male child was named James after the paternal grandfather & their 2nd female child named Ann after the paternal grandmother. While no other link to Stirling, Scotland exists that I am aware of at this moment, this is the only James in the record that fits. More work needs to be done on this.
