- Max Moffett was a medic in the 29th Division, 115 infantry of the US Army during WWII. After surviving D-Day and four other battles and receiving nine medals and two citations, he re-enlisted in the 29th as a first cook and made mess sergent. After 23 years in the military he returned to Rock Hall and worked as a painter and maintenance man at Washington College in Chestertown. He retired in 1985 at age 65. He in now living in Ocean City, MD. [1]
