Sours, 90 William Michael Sours, 90, of Rushville, died at 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, at the Culbertson Memorial hospital where he had been admitted the previous week. He had been a patient at the Snyder Nursing Home in Rushville for 3 1/2 years prior to that time. Funeral services were held Friday at the Roby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Marshall Ervin conducted the services with burial in the Ridgeville cemetery near Browning. Mr. Sours was born in Chandlerville on April 8, 1874, the son of Riley and Betsy Lundry Sours. He was married to Margaret Ellen Doyle on June 7, 1896. They resided in Cass county where he worked on the railroad until 1912, at which time they moved to Schuyler county and started farming. The remainder of his years were spent in Schuyler county except for a few years that he lived in Havana. He accepted Christ as his personal saviour 30 years ago at the Rushville Union Baptist church of which he was a member and he faithfully attended services as long as his health permitted. Mr. Sours, who often was lovingly referred to as "Gramp" held a special place in the hearts of his family. He leaves the following relatives to mourn his passing: his five sons, Virgil of Littleton, Loren of Havana, Raymond of Silivis, Oliver of Moline and Lester of Davis, California; and his five daughters, Virgella, wife of Robert Hood of Rushville, Winifred, wife of Herschel Sweeney of Macomb, Myrtle, wife of Bearl Trone of Rushville, Gladys, wife of Frank Clark of Sacramento, California, and Marguerite, wife of Wayne Morris of Macomb. Also a brother, Clem Sours of Chicago; 27 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers and three sisters.
